In the actual selection process, there are three selection principles:

 

The first item is the scope of use of wire and cable lines, different places of use, different areas suitable for cables, places of electrical equipment clusters, prosperous areas, important areas, major roads and areas with special requirements for urban planning and urban environment. Serious pollution and corrosive areas that are difficult to solve with technology, users with high power supply reliability requirements or important loads, key scenic tourist areas, urban central areas with high load density, new residential areas and high-rise buildings with large construction areas.

 

The second item is to consider the long-term allowable ampacity of the cable, determine the cross-section according to the long-term allowable ampacity, select the cable section according to the short-circuit thermal stability, select the cable section according to the voltage drop of the connecting loop, verify the cross-section according to the mechanical strength, and select the cross-section of the neutral wire (N), the protective grounding wire (PE), and the protective earthing neutral wire (PEN).

 

The third item is the correction of the current carrying capacity of wires and cables: long-term allowable ampacity-carrying temperature correction of cables, long-term allowable ampacity-carrying soil corrections of cables, long-term allowable ampacity-carrying corrections for direct buried parallel laying power cables, and corrections of current-carrying capacity of cable threading of 10kV and below.
