One. Mechanical damage

Two. Aging of insulation
In the long-term operation of the cable, due to poor heat dissipation or overload, the electrical and mechanical properties of the insulation material deteriorate, and the insulation layer becomes brittle or broken. If so, the cable should be subjected to preventive voltage testing according to the cycle, and it is found that the cable insulation reduction cannot meet the requirements of safe operation, and the new cable should be replaced.
Three. Insulation is moisture
Because of the poor construction process of the cable head, moisture invades the inside of the cable, or the inner sheath of the cable is damaged and moisture enters. The lead-clad cable was laid close to the epicenter and caused fatigue and cracking due to prolonged sensation. The outer skin of the cable is corroded and cavities. Because of the poor quality of production, there are small holes or cracks in the lead packet. In view of these situations, the protection of the outer layer of the cable should be strengthened, and a layer of asphalt should be applied to the outer sheath layer regularly.
Four. Overvoltage
Insulation breakdowns due to atmospheric overvoltages or internal overvoltages, especially internal overvoltages in the system, can cause multiple cables to break down at the same time. In this regard, lightning arresters should be installed to improve the scientific and technological level of automatic protection of the system.
Five. Improper construction
Because of the poor construction method and poor quality of the materials used, the cable head and the weak link in the middle are faulty, resulting in the insulation layer being broken. To prevent this phenomenon, the quality of the cable head should be improved, and the insulation bag should be tight and should not show voids during the production and installation of the cable head. Before epoxy resin and quartz powder, strict drying treatment should be carried out so that bubbles and moisture cannot enter the cable head, and the insulation treatment of the edge of the lead jacket should be strengthened.
